Course Description

This course defines and explores essential skills and their importance in any role in a GEAR UP program. Distinguish between technical hard skills and foundational soft skills, complete a personal skills inventory and learn practical strategies for strengthening your competencies and skills.

Upon completion of this course, you will be able to: 

• Define essential skills and identify what they look like in the workplace.
• Reflect on your professional skills within the context of your role.
• Explore strategies for strengthening essential skills.

Timing
This course should take you approximately 1 hour to complete.

Certificate

To receive a certificate of completion, you must complete the course and pass the assessment with an 80% or higher. You will have two retake opportunities.
