About the Course

This course establishes a foundation in student engagement for those working in GEAR UP programs. When it comes to implementing GEAR UP activities and services, engaging with students is key to fostering connection, developing a sense of belonging, and increasing motivation among students.  

Upon completion of this course, you will be able to: 

• Define student engagement as it relates to your GEAR UP grant. 
• Determine the different types of student engagement. 
• Explain how student engagement relates to student success in college access and postsecondary education. 
• Discover tactics for establishing student engagement, including examples from GEAR UP grants.

Timing
This course should take you approximately 2 hours to complete.

Certificate

To receive a certificate of completion, you must complete the course and pass the assessment with an 80% or higher. You will have two retake opportunities.
